I need to learn to trust my instincts again when it comes to seeing films in the cinema.  I had a feeling I wouldn’t be able to get into this and the length didn’t help ease those fears.  Needless to say I regret not choosing to see Kingsman or sticking with my previous planned watch of Whiplash instead.  D’oh.

The story itself was interesting, more so since it’s a true story, but I just couldn’t get into it and got a bit ansy at times to want to just walk out.  I felt my eyes starting to go during one of the big action scenes which is never a good sign when there’s so much noise that should be ensuring you’re kept awake and focused on the screen.

#10 – Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult

Well that was a bit of a let down after the other two films unfortunately.

It might just be me missing any other references from the earlier films but this one seemed to be relying far too much on doing parodies rather than original gags.  I don’t remember any prolonged parodies from the other films so it was a bit odd and took me out of the film for the most part.

There were still some amusing bits as always but it seemed like the series could have probably done without this film.

There were a couple, primarily the two villians, but I also spotted the crazy eyebrow guy I thought was in Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original) but it seems I was wrong according to IMDB.  To use his proper name, which I’ll refuse to ever use much like Sex Machine , is R Lee Ermey.   It also appears that I’ve seen Rocco most recently in 30 Minutes or Less.

Highlight
It’s between the sperm bank, before Frank realises where he is, and the background bubble wrap scenes at the Oscar’s for sheer weirdness.
